Late artist Anni Kastberg's work crosses several mediums; from canvas watercolours and oils, to paper pressing prints using mother nature's rainforest leaves and bark, to felting and hand made alcapca woolen garments, to sculpture, ceramics and pottery.

Anni was born in 1949 and grew up in Tasmania, Australia. After meeting her future husband, designer Klaus Kastberg, they moved to Copenhagen in 1972 and married in 1975. They returned to Hobart with a newborn son, Jonas, and shortly after added to the fold with another son, Palle.

After a short stint living in Brisbane the family finally settled on Tamborine Mountain, Queensland, in 1987. It was here, amongst the rainforest community, where many a like-minded artist is drawn, that Anni felt a sense of belonging and her thirst for creativity grew.

Although always interested in art Anni never felt her work was worthy of being considered such. The works in this book and slideshow reveal otherwise. Anni continued to self-educate, attending various art workshops throughout her entire adult life. Some of the rich results are contained within these pages.
